Laura Greve, PhD.
Dr. Greve is a clinical health psychologist whose clinical work with adults and adolescents is focused on health conditions (acute and chronic), anxiety, stress and health behavior change. She uses a problem-focused model of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and works collaboratively with clients to help them learn new skills for improved mental and physical wellbeing in everyday life. She has specialized experience working with a variety of health issues from pain conditions including migraine headaches, hypertension, IBS, sleep disorders, diabetes, cancer and many other conditions that can be exacerbated by stress, anxiety and other emotional factors. Dr. Greve is trained in bio-behavioral treatments such as biofeedback, hypnosis, and stress management training, and she relies on evidence-based, scientifically supported cognitive and behavioral strategies to improve health and behavior outcomes. You will find her to be warm, caring and knowledgeable, tailoring treatment to meet your individual needs.
Dr. Greve also specializes in working with adolescents and adults with learning disorders including ADHD. Her coaching provides the skills needed to successfully navigate academic and professional settings. Her coaching clients range from college students to high level business executives who seek to maximize their performance and meet career and personal goals. Dr. Greve is also a dynamic and engaging speaker providing customized trainings and workshops for organizations and businesses for professional development and continuing education.
She received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a Health Psychology emphasis from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a Clinical Fellow at Harvard Medical School and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Pain Treatment Service at Children's Hospital Boston and internship within the Department of Psychiatry at Children's Hospital Boston. Most recently she was an Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine and Senior Psychologist in the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. She has served as a Clinical Supervisor for the Emory Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship program, and also conducted research with bio-behavioral treatment of chronic pain and childhood cancer survivors. She has presented at numerous national/international conferences and is an ad hoc reviewer for the Clinical Journal of Pain, Journal of Pediatric Psychology, Professional Psychology: Research and Practice and Psychosomatic Medicine. She was recently named one of the top 10 Phenomenal Women by the North Fulton Division of the American Business Women?s Association in 2009.
