 Dr. Evan Waldheter
Psychologist & Counselor in Boston, MA

Dr. Waldheter is a clinical psychologist who provides individual psychotherapy to adults who present with a wide range of concerns including relationship problems, identity and developmental issues, academic or work-related stress, physical health problems, depression, and anxiety. Dr. Waldheter approaches therapy from a variety of perspectives including psychodynamic, relational, and cognitive-behavioral. He aims to help his clients better understand their distress and interpersonal difficulties, as well as learn ways to improve the quality of their lives. He is skilled in the use of empirically supported interventions for psychological disorders and he strives to employ these strategies flexibly and creatively, with the goal of tailoring each client's treatment to his or her individual concerns and unique history. In addition to psychotherapy, Dr. Waldheter has undertaken specialized training in psychological assessment and frequently integrates this into his work.

Dr. Waldheter received his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he conducted research on schizophrenia and developed a specialization in the treatment of psychosis in young adults. He completed his clinical internship at the Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School, where he remained for a post-doctoral fellowship that included training at the MIT Mental Health Service. In addition to his work at Commonwealth Psychology Associates, Dr. Waldheter is a psychology instructor at Boston College, where he teaches and advises undergraduates.  Dr. Waldheter offers psychotherapy and counseling in our Back Bay Boston office.
