Dr. Kirsten Snyder is a clinical psychologist who provides individual psychotherapy, couples counseling, consultation and psychological assessment for adolescents and adults. Dr. Snyder works with clients who are diverse in age, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. Her approach to psychotherapy is holistic and draws from a variety of theoretical perspectives, including relational, cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic models, with an emphasis on mind-body-spirit integration. Dr. Snyder works collaboratively with her clients to develop an integrated approach to treatment that is tailored to the particular needs and interests of her clients and that promotes personal discovery and growth. She is most interested in facilitating the exploration of life difficulties associated with relationships, the stresses and adjustments to life and career transitions, and identity development. Dr. Snyder has had extensive experience in working with people that struggle with depression, anxiety, bereavement issues, post-traumatic stress and situational stressors.
Dr. Snyder received her doctoral degree from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology. She completed internships at Lynn Community Health Center and Simmons College Counseling Center. She completed a post-doctoral residency at Humboldt State University. Dr. Snyder offers psychotherapy and counseling services in our Newton office.
