 Dr. Maria Soledad Hiraldo

Dr. Maria Soledad Hiraldo is a clinical psychologist who provides individual and couples counseling for adolescents and adults. Dr. Hiraldo’s approach is predominately psychodynamic, while incorporating aspects of mindfulness, cognitive behavior therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. Her style is fluid and tailored to best suit the concerns and subjective experience of the client. She approaches a client’s concerns with openness and sincerity in a comfortable and collaborative environment. Dr. Hiraldo is a bilingual (English/Spanish) clinician. Her particular areas of interest include: depression, anxiety, major life transitions, academic and career related concerns, issues related to diversity, multiculturalism and immigration, trauma, identity formation, sexual orientation, family stressors and relationship challenges.
 
Dr. Hiraldo received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from George Washington University in Washington, DC.  In addition to a strong background in psychoanalytic and behavioral therapy, Dr. Hiraldo also has considerable clinical experience in college counseling and community mental health. Dr. Hiraldo completed her APA-approved pre-doctoral internship at the Division of Public Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. She also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Tufts University Counseling and Mental Health Service, where she provided psychological services to college and graduate students. She has extensive experience working with a wide range of populations, age groups, backgrounds and concerns. Dr. Hiraldo provides psychotherapy and counseling services in our Back Bay location.
