Stacey Seifer, Psy.D.

Dr. Seifer provides individual and couples psychotherapy using various therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic, family systems, and cognitive-behavioral interventions. Her areas of interest include anxiety/mood disorders, trauma, and substance abuse. Dr. Seifer is skilled in empirically supported treatments for issues such as panic disorder, social phobia, and depression.
In addition to her work at Psychology Associates, Dr. Seifer is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UMass Medical School and a Staff Psychologist at the UMass Adolescent Treatment Program. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Yeshiva University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, in New York. She has trained in a number of settings, including Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and the women and trauma Program at St Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in New York City.
Dr. Seifer also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in substance abuse at the Smither’s Treatment Center in New York. She has an extensive background in couples and family therapy, as well as a strong foundation in diagnostic assessment, individual and group psychotherapy, and crisis intervention.
