![]() | Dr. Wendy Vincent Psychologist & Counselor in Newton, MA Dr. Vincent is a clinical psychologist who provides individual therapy for adults. Her strengths-based and interactive approach to psychotherapy draws from a variety of theoretical perspectives, including interpersonal/relational, narrative, cognitive-behavioral, and recovery-oriented models. Dr. Vincent works collaboratively with her clients to develop an integrated approach to treatment that is tailored to the particular life goals and interests of her clients. Through warmth, transparency, and consistency, Dr. Vincent strives to create a sense of safety and trust for her clients, so that they can address their concerns and grow in positive directions. Dr. Vincent has particular interests in the areas of trauma, relationship challenges, career development, anxiety, depression, stress management, and veterans/military families. Dr. Vincent earned her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University New England, after first earning a Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Lesley University in Cambridge. She completed her APA-accredited internship training at Westborough State Hospital's adult inpatient unit. She also completed an APA-accredited post-doctoral fellowship at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial VA Medical Center in Bedford, MA, specializing in psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery work for veterans with serious mental illness. Dr. Vincent has clinical experience in a number of other settings, which include: college counseling, community mental health centers, and an acute-care inpatient residential center for children. Prior to studying psychology, she worked as a senior-level manager in the publishing field, consulting to businesses engaged in acquisitions and/or streamlining costs/procedures. Dr. Vincent currently offers psychotherapy and counseling services in our Newton office. |
