Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy

Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy (CRT) is a treatment that helps clients develop a better awareness of their cognitive difficulties, as well as gain knowledge and experience of strategies that can be used to manage their cognitive problems.

Each treatment plan is tailored to client-specific cognitive difficulties.

Assessments and treatment plans may include a combination of:

  • Education regarding the nature of impairments.
  • Cognitive and behavioral strategies to promote acceptance and self-awareness, as well as boost problem-solving skills.
  • Specific skill training (e.g. learning to incorporate a memory tracking and organization tool into daily routine, creating an attention and activity schedule.)

Best results are achieved through a consistent commitment to attend up to 8 weekly or bi-weekly sessions.
