Yes. Clients must be physically located in Massachusetts at the time of the appointment. Clients will be asked to confirm their location at the start of each session.
Virtual visits are not appropriate for all clients. Depending on medical history, symptoms and complexity, our clinicians may determine that in-person visits are necessary for optimal care. Some insurance plans may require you to be seen in-person for your first visit only.
Most likely. Most insurance plans cover TelePsych services. Our administrative staff will verify each client’s benefits before scheduling. Tufts Health Plan currently does NOT cover TelePsych services. However, plans from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Harvard Pilgrim, United Behavioral Health, and others often cover it.
The video-conferencing system we use is Doxy.me, a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform that is designed specifically for TeleHealth and privacy requirements. It is far more secure than standard video-conference platforms for general use.
