Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner | Boston, MA
David is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC.) He provides psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and individual psychotherapy. He works with children, adolescents, and adults.
David takes pride in offering evidence-based treatment while maintaining a supportive, empathetic, and nonjudgmental atmosphere for his clients. His approach to medication treatment is client-centered and collaborative. Knowing that each client has their own individual goals and priorities, he will review the risks and benefits of various treatment options – including a discussion of whether medication treatment is appropriate at all. And because he sees the intimate connection between physical and mental health, he will also discuss habits around sleep, exercise and nutrition as part of treatment. David’s approach to individual psychotherapy is grounded in cognitive behavioral and humanistic/person-centered perspectives. He also incorporates insights from mindfulness practices and positive psychology.
David earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Howard University. He provided primary care and mental health services to under-served populations in Washington, DC and the Boston area before completing his Master of Science degree in Nursing at Regis College.
