Dr. Fields is a clinical psychologist who provides individual psychotherapy and couples counseling for adults. She believes psychotherapy can help people improve their life satisfaction and interpersonal connection through self-awareness and positive change. Dr. Fields uses warmth, authenticity, and humor to create a collaborative and supportive environment in which her clients can explore their concerns, develop insight, and move toward personal growth. Dr. Fields’ clinical approach draws from several theoretical orientations including psychodynamic, relational, and cognitive-behavioral perspectives. Her clinical interests include anxiety/depression, identity development, self-esteem and self-compassion, and relationship difficulties.
Dr. Fields earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology. She has trained in both inpatient and outpatient settings and completed postdoctoral fellowships in the office of Counseling and Health Services at Salem State University and in the Behavioral Health Department at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates. Dr. Fields provides psychotherapy and counseling in the Back Bay office.
