Dr. Samlin is a clinical psychologist providing individual therapy and behavioral medicine services to adults. Drawing heavily from mindfulness and acceptance-based therapies, as well as cognitive-behavioral and relational therapy, Dr. Samlin helps individuals relate to their experiences with self-compassion and make positive behavioral changes. His open, genuine, and collaborative therapeutic style allows clients to work towards their goals and develop a more complete sense of wellness.
Dr. Samlin works with clients experiencing health-related issues such as diabetes, hypertension, IBS/Colitis, Crohn’s disease, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, HIV, cancer, sleep difficulties, and smoking cessation. Additionally, Dr. Samlin provides treatment for individuals coping with depression, anxiety, chronic stress, and life transitions.
Dr. Samlin received his bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and his master’s and doctoral degrees from the Rutgers University Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology. He completed an APA-approved internship at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst Center for Counseling and Psychological Health and a postdoctoral fellowship in primary care behavioral medicine at Chase Brexton Health Services in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Samlin offers behavioral medicine and psychotherapy services in our Newton-Wellesley location.
