Dr. Gordon provides therapy and assessment services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. She believes that forming a trusting therapeutic alliance between clinician and client is integral to effective treatment. Dr. Gordon’s goal is to create a collaborative, warm, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel safe and empowered to grow.
Dr. Gordon develops treatment for clients based on their unique needs. She utilizes an integrative approach to therapy that incorporates strength-based, relational, psychodynamic, family systems, insight-oriented, and cognitive-behavioral interventions. Dr. Gordon is trained in two evidence-based trauma modalities (Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Child Parent Psychotherapy) and offers services related to the effects of trauma. She also provides play therapy and creative arts therapy and is certified in Child and Family Forensics.

Dr. Gordon received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from William James College in Newton, Massachusetts. She completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at The Village for Families and Children in Hartford, CT, where she provided individual, family, and group therapy, and psychological and developmental assessments for children, adolescents and young adults. Dr. Gordon also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in forensic psychology at William James College’s Center of Excellence for Children, Families, and the Law: Child and Family Evaluation Service (CAFES). At CAFES, Dr. Gordon conducted court-ordered psychological and custody evaluations for families in high conflict divorces. She also provided parent mediation and co-led a court-ordered psychoeducational parent group for individuals in high conflict divorce. Dr. Gordon provides services in our Newton-Watertown office, and welcomes clients from all backgrounds.
