Dr. Havins is a clinical neuropsychologist who provides comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations and cognitive rehabilitation services for adults with neurological disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, medical conditions, and comorbid psychiatric disorders. Her clinical interests include traumatic brain injury, neurodegenerative diseases, vascular disease/stroke, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and the relationship between psychological and cognitive symptoms. Dr. Havins provides detailed feedback about test results, diagnostic impressions, and tailored recommendations to improve clients’ functioning.
Dr. Havins also offers cognitive rehabilitation therapy for clients who hope to improve cognitive functioning and well-being. She uses neuropsychological evaluation results to help clients better understand their individual strengths and vulnerabilities and develops an individualized treatment plan to improve attention, organization, and/or memory.
Dr. Havins earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Houston with a specialization in adult neuropsychology. She completed her internship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Psychology Internship Consortium with a neuropsychology emphasis and a two-year neuropsychology postdoctoral fellowship at the VA Maryland Healthcare System, with specialization in cognitive rehabilitation therapy, traumatic brain injury, and dementia. Dr. Havins provides neuropsychological evaluations and cognitive rehabilitation therapy in our Newton-Wellesley office.
