Inadequate sleep linked to depression, weight gain & early death. CPA has Boston therapists and counselors who can help.

September 5, 2010|Uncategorized

Research articles published in Sleep (Sept. 1, 2010) report that too little sleep can lead to psychological distress and depression. Additionally, poor sleep also was linked to increased caloric intake and weight gain. Importantly, among men, poor sleep was related to earlier death (this was not true for women). Poor sleep is a serious issue that has numerous psychological, cognitive and health consequences. CPA has psychologists who specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is an effective treatment for insomnia and many of its root causes including anxiety and stress. Call us to find a Boston therapist or Newton therapist that can help.
